About event

Australian Library and Information Association

The Australian Library and Information Association is the national professional organisation for the Australian library and information services sector. Together we seek to empower the profession through the development, promotion and deliver of quality library and information services to the nation, though leadership, advocacy and mutual professional support.

ALIA National Conference

With the successful launch of the National Conference in 2014, we look forward to another opportunity to impress our members, and supporters in 2016.

ALIA provides the platform as a meeting point for all Library and Information professionals, from all sectors and all areas of Australia and the international community.

The National Conference provides unparalleled opportunities to become stronger as professionals and as an industry with engaging programs and a forum to collaborate, network and build partnerships amongst our colleagues, peers, industry leaders and corporate partners.

Conference theme

Engage. Create. Lead.

Engage – how do we ensure we understand the broader environment in which we operate and how do we connect with it?
Create – how do we add value to our libraries and communities and actively participate in creative initiatives?
Lead – how do we maintain and grow our place and relevance within the community through change and leadership?
