Open to library and information professionals across the sector, the ALIA SA Symposium is a one day event to bring together the SA community to learn from each other in a collegial environment.
This event aims to demystify and inform library and information professionals about the process of conference presentations: Learn about the peer-review process, abstract submissions, confidence-boosting tips for presenting and much more!
The ALIA SA Symposium is all about our local library community. We especially welcome presentations that give a local flavour or offer a local solution to a universal problem.
Does your library have a new program that has been implemented? Tell us about it! Have you created a new service or renovated your space? Show us what you’ve done! Or even if you have work that is in progress, we’d love to hear from you.
First-time presenters are particularly encouraged to submit a proposal.

Presenting at the ALIA SA Symposium is a great opportunity to practice your presentation skills, network with colleagues and engage and learn with other presenters.
This event is free for ALIA members. ALIA Institutional members may register up to 3 non-member staff for this event. Please ensure all attendees names are added under your Institution’s details first, to access the member price.
Registrations up to 3 weeks prior = full refund
Registrations between 1-2 weeks prior = 50% refund
Registrations cancelled 1 week prior or less = no refund
